Telehealth Psychology and Life Coaching Services
With the increasing stress and pressure physicians are facing, SSVMS is committed to providing all physicians a place to turn during these difficult times. SSVMS will sponsors up to six (6) wellness sessions with vetted psychologists and /or life coaches for physicians in Sacramento, El Dorado, Yolo, and Placer Counties.
Members and non-members may utilize this service.
To schedule a virtual appointment, contact a Vetted Provider directly, ask what virtual platform they support, and mention that you are accessing the SSVMS Joy of medicine Program.

Joy of Medicine Life Coaches are experienced in working with the unique needs of physicians. They are contracted independent consultants, not employees of the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society. Please note that life coaches are not licensed therapists.

Your use of the Joy of Medicine Resiliency Consultations are completely voluntary and confidential and may not be mandated as a condition of employment. Neither SSVMS, your employer, nor the California Board of Medicine will be notified if you choose to participate.
Competent
All psychologists, psychiatrists and life coaches participating in the Joy of Medicine Program have been vetted by the Joy of Medicine Advisory Group.
Convenient
Participating psychologists and life coaches are based in various locations in the Sacramento Region. Their hours of operation vary, but many are willing to accommodate the unique schedules of physicians.
Cost-Free
SSVMS sponsors up to six (6) Resiliency Consultations to physicians practicing in the Sacramento Region. Our vetted providers are paid discreetly by SSVMS. Insurance will not be asked for or billed.

Medical Students
Medical Students may schedule a Resiliency Consult with a vetted provider for a discounted rate. To schedule an appointment or for more information, contact a provider who offers sessions for medical students directly. Identify yourself as a medical student in the Sacramento Region who participates in the Joy of Medicine program.
**All physicians accessing Joy of Medicine Resiliency Consultations are required to show providers/coaches proof of residency. Any late cancels or missed appointments are the financial responsibility of the physician.
